libsox-fmt-mp3 software package provides SoX MP2 and MP3 format library, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libsox-fmt-mp3
libsox-fmt-mp3 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libsox-fmt-mp3 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libsox-fmt-mp3 *
You will get with libsox-fmt-mp3 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
